The Birth of the Mobile Phone

Since the 1980s, the mobile phone has been transformed from an pricey item used by business people to a truly popular personal communications tool that is used by most of the population. in actual fact, these days, mobile telephone outnumber landline phones in many countries.

Mobile telephones started life whenseveral mobile radio users, known as the mobileers, popularised the use of mobile phone technology. Mobile phones were originally installed in vehicles permanently, although more sophisticated versions of them, that were called transportables, could also be carried, which meant they could be used as a mobile or as moveable two-way radio. during the forties, Motorola developed a two-way radio in a bag, the walkie-talkie, & this was widely regarded as one of the first mobiles.

The very earliest mobile telephones were called first generation telephones, also called 1g. The 1-g reign lasted from the late 1970s through to the eighties. these devices were the very first genuine mobile telephones, although they were then known as cellular mobile radiophones, and were based on analogue signals. the analogue signal was the main difference between these first generation mobile telephones and their second generation cousins, which emerged a while later.

The very earliest second generation mobile telephones were commercially launched in 1991 in finland. While 2g networks were totally digital, the earlier 1g networks were analog. one of the benefits that 2g networks had over the 1g predecessors was that conversations were digitally encrypted. This was prominent because third parties could to eavesdrop on calls on analog networks. as well as this, 2g systems were lots more efficient, which allowed far more mobile telephones to be used. Finally, 2g introduced data services for mobile, including sms text messages.

After the launch of 2g mobile phones, the previous mobile phone systems were named 1g. whereas radio signalling on 1g networks are analog, & on 2g networks they are digital, both networks use digital signaling to connect the radio towers & the rest of the telephone system.

The very earliest pre-commercial 3g mobile phone network was launched in japan in may 2001. 3-g was later released commercially in Japan on 1st october 2001.

3g is the third generation of mobile phone standards & technology, which succeeded 2g mobile phone technology. the birth of 3-g technologies enabled network operators including orange to offer their users a bigger range of high-tech services. This includes broadband internet, as well as high tech video calls.

Although 3g has been very successful, there's also been some complaints about it. These include criticism over the cost of 3g phones, a lack of network coverage because it's still a new service & the amount of power that 3g phones use.

After 3-g, we can get excited about the release of 4-g technology, which should be the best and most sophisticated mobile phone technology to date.

Thank you for reading our article about the invention of the mobile phone. as you've probably guessed by now, the mobile phone has come a long way since it was initially launched and there's a fair chance of, it will be developed even further still.
