What Value are Cell Phone Number Prefixes?
Just like with land lines, cell phone numbers assigned in North America all have a set ten-digit length to designate their address in a numerical way. This format was created by AT&T back in 1947 long before the invention of cellular phones, however, its overall layout remains in use today. This layout is broken down into a 3-3-4 pattern, which refers to the three digits of the number’s area code, the three digits of its prefix, and the four digits of the actual line number. You have likely heard of the area code portion of the number, as it is the segment most commonly referred to by its actual name. It is the three digits assigned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in order to designate the number’s location in a given city or portion of a state. The prefix, however, is less commonly known by its name. It is the first three digits after the area code. The original use of the prefix was to tell the human operator working for the phone carrier to which specific sub-area the telephone number belonged. Naturally, with computerized switches, the prefix is no longer area-specific – especially in the case of cell phones which will work wherever there is a signal, and are not limited by their registered geographical area. The last four digits belong to the line number, which are the designation for the specific cell phone to which the number was assigned. Though in the case of a land line, several phones can be connected to the same line number, all accessing the same line, cell phones are different. Only one cell phone can use a given telephone number. Another difference between cell phones and land lines are in the directories for their numbers. Though land lines have complete directories readily available, cell phones numbers don’t have a nation-wide or even state-wide directory in which to be listed.

How to Keep yourself Safe While Welding
Welding is a rewarding practice which requires proper training and safety procedures to be followed in order to keep everyone safe. This process may also be referred to as "Oxy-welding and cutting" and as the name implies the machines employed in this process use oxygen and fuels in order to produce intense heat which is capable of cutting extremely hard metals. The main fuel used to power these machines is called "Acetylene".When the main fuel (acetylene) is burned and mixed with oxygen it can produce extreme temperatures, they usually range between 3200 and 3500 Celsius which is the equivalent of 5800-6300 Fahrenheit; with such extreme temperatures it goes without saying that proper safety precautions must be taken in order to keep yourself and those surrounding you safe. Since the fuels used to weld are extremely flammable, they should be kept in rooms with controlled temperature and in some cases pressure.Other fuels used to weld and cut metals are: gasoline, hydrogen, methylacetylene-propadiene or MAPP gas, propane and propylene. Depending on the type of job a different type of fuel must be used, for instance underwater welding has to be done using hydrogen as the main fuel since acetylene becomes very unstable at 33 feet. Before welding you must always check the equipment for leaks or malfunctions, you should also wear protective goggles or special masks which will cover your eyes and prevent the intense radiation from causing them harm, special gloves and even still toe boots should be used while welding. You must also learn to identify the functions of the welding machine as well as the types of torches used for different tasks, some of the torch types are:Welding Torch: its function is to melt and weld metals, it has two pipes and no oxygen-blast trigger. The Rose-bud Torch: this name was given to it because the end of the flame looks like a rose-bud, it is used to heat metals and reshape them instead of melting the substance or cutting it.Injector Torch: these torches have a small head which injects oxygen and relies on the Venturi effect to drag fuel gas along with it.Cutting Torch: has three pipes one of which carries oxygen which can be adjusted through the oxygen-blast trigger, the main purpose of this torch is to cut metals.Different torch types must be used according to the task, however the safety procedures remain the same, so remember to wear protective equipment, use respirators to avoid inhaling hazardous fumes produced by chemical reactions of the fuel and the burning metal and run a thorough assessment about your surroundings and the risk of fire.
How to Determine if you Need to Buy a New Refrigerator
The Refrigerator is an essential appliance in everyone's home, it provides the perfect conditions to store foods in bulk so that they won't get spoiled at ambient temperatures. This device has suffered mayor modifications within the last century, the first refrigerators had only one compartment and ran using toxic gases such as ammonia, that's why these first appliances were not very practical and definitively not safe enough to keep at home.As time went by, ammonia was replaced with a safer refrigerant called Freon or R-12, ever since this new substance started to be used to make refrigerators work this machine became highly commercial since it was now safe and convenient to use. Today, modern refrigerators count with more than one compartment, the two basic areas are the fridge which keeps the food at a temperature which is a few degrees above the temperature at which water becomes a solid or frozen and the other compartment which keeps food at temperature below water's freezing point.More recently, new refrigerators incorporated more compartments in order to keep different foods refrigerated at different temperatures, for instance some refrigerators have the following compartments: the freezer which runs at around -18 Celsius or 0 Fahrenheit, one which operates at 0 Celsius or 32 Fahrenheit and is meant for meats, another running at 5 Celsius or 40 Fahrenheit which is also called the refrigerator and last a compartment running at 10 Celsius or 50 Fahrenheit which is meant for vegetables. As you can see, the refrigerator is a critical appliance which has to be working at all times, otherwise our foods get spoiled, but what happens when something goes wrong with it, do you panic and buy a new one or do you try to fix the problem? The first step is to always check the source of the problem, if your problem involves leaks or condensation problems there is a good chance you can do the repairs by yourself, that's if you are somewhat familiar with electronics; on the other hand if the problem is electrical you might want to have a professional dealing with it since it is very dangerous to deal with appliances which involve water and electricity. If the problem is electric in nature it makes sense to buy a new one because the costs of repair can run pretty high, especially if some new part is required, all other problems should be easy enough to fix and shouldn't cost too much to have repaired by a professional.
